Property taxes can now be paid online

In an effort to meet requests from taxpayers, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert is expanding property tax payment options.
The sheriff’s office now offers a payment option that allows for credit and debit card transactions online. This new service is being offered in partnership with Value Payment Systems and Software & Services.
Credit and debit cards accepted include MasterCard, Visa and Discover Card. When a Visa debit card is used, a fixed convenience fee of $3.95 will be assessed by the payment processing company. When a credit card is used, a convenience fee of 3.45 percent of the total payment will be assessed by the payment processing company.
Hebert said his office recognizes that fewer transactions take place using cash or checks and is therefore providing this paperless payment option to taxpayers.
Payments may be made at http://stmarytcmonline.azurewebsites.net/ with a credit or debit card.
