Red Ribbon Week begins today

Red Ribbon Week in St. Mary Parish kicks off today with publication of a tabloid in The Daily Review and Banner-Tribune.
The theme for the week is “Be Driven by the Right Decision. Be Drug-Free!”
The remaining schedule for the week includes:
—Saturday: Motorcade “Operation Red Light,” a convoy of emergency vehicles that travels through the parish. It begins at Glencoe Charter School at 9 a.m. and travels along major highways to the Amelia Fire Department.
—Sunday: Day of Prayer.
—Monday: Reach Out Day.
—Tuesday: Character Counts! Day.
—Wednesday: Wear Red Day.
—Thursday: DARE Day, law enforcement visits schools.
—Friday, Oct. 24: Tobacco-free St. Mary Day.
—Saturday, Oct. 25: Parade of Schools, walk down Victor II Boulevard, MC “Zoo To Boo” Family Fun Day at Morgan City Petting Zoo, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A $1 donation is requested at the gate. Concessions and games will be available for a small charge with proceeds benefitting local non-profits and school programs.
Prizes will be awarded to first-, second- and third-place winners of the Halloween costume contest in each of four divisions.
—Sunday, Oct. 26: Day of Prayer.
