Supreme Outboard Service, at top, was joined by
St. Mary Chamber of Commerce representatives,
local public officials and guests to cut the ribbon at
their 1718 Main St. location in Franklin Thursday.
Owners Keth Parker, Andrea Dupre, Lloyd Gros and
Jennifer Gros said the business is a certified Mercury
and Yamaha service center, and also offers
parts, hi-performance gear and more. Their hours
are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and
Saturday hours are seasonal. At bottom, the Arc of St.
Mary/Center of Hope held a ribbon cutting for the
grand opening of the Betty Verrett Vocational Training
Facility in Centerville on Wednesday. Local officials,
Chamber of Commerce members, friends,
family, clients and employees were on hand for the
occasion. Clients held fund raisers, selling raffle
tickets for more than 16 years, to raise the funds
required to build the new facility. Additional funding
was received from the parish. The facility is open
from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and
provides vocational training for individuals with
intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout
the parish. For more information, call (337) 836-
