Road closure updates

The U.S. 90 bridge at Berwick to Morgan City is closed as is the stretch between Morgan City and Amelia to the Assumption Parish line, according to a St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office news release at about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. The La. 182 bridge at Amelia remains open. La. 182 is subject to closure as Department of Transportation and Development and National Guard crews work periodically to deice the roadway in an effort to keep bridges open, the release stated.

U.S. 90 from the Iberia Parish line to the Baldwin overpass is open for travel. U.S. 90 at the Baldwin overpass to Centerville is closed. The alternate route is La. 182. La. 317 is also open eastbound to the Calumet Cut. Traffic is being routed across the bridge at Calumet. Crossing at Calumet, U.S. 90 through Patterson, Bayou Vista, and Berwick is open for travel.

These closures are subject to change as the evening progresses, and deputies are continuing to work with DOTD to monitor conditions through the night and morning, the release stated.
