Suspect sought
St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department responded to a complaint of a theft at the Dist. 11 Fire Substation No. 3 on La. 83 in Glencoe Friday. The vending machine located outside of the station had been broken into. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that a second vending machine located outside of the A.J. Landry Four Corners station on Big Four Corners Road had also been burglarized. Surveillance video from that location shows a subject breaking into the machine at about 2:30 a.m. Some $95 in coins was taken in both crimes and $500 in damage was done to the machines in both incidents. According to Fire Chief Clarence Clark, proceeds from the vending machines benefit the volunteer fire fighters in that district. Detectives are working to identify the subject seen on video surveillance at the Four Corners station. Anyone with information on the case may contact the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-828-1960 or by email at crimewatch@stmaryso.com.
