Tax notices to go in the mail in Nov.
Property tax payments are now being accepted at either of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office locations and online at http://stmarytcmonline.azurewebsites.net/.
Tax notices will be mailed out to property owners in early November. Property owners who have their taxes escrowed are asked to forward a copy of the tax notice to their mortgage holder. Those who would like to pay their taxes now may go online to the web address above or call 337-828-6979 or 985-384-1622 to obtain property tax amounts.
Payments can be made by the following methods:
—To pay by credit card, visit http://stmarytcmonline.azurewebsites.net/ and click the link to pay property taxes.
—To pay in person with cash, a check, or money order stop by either of the following locations 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, St. Mary Parish Courthouse Building, fourth floor, 500 Main St., Franklin, or 1455 Railroad Avenue, Morgan City.
—By mail, send a check or money order to the following address:

Tax Payment Due Dates and Delinquency Schedule:
Dec. 31: Taxes are delinquent if unpaid after this date.
Jan. 1: 1 percent interest accrues on any unpaid taxes.
Feb. 1: Additional 1 percent interest and 10 percent collection fee (taxes and interest) are added.
March: Additional 1 percent interest per month accrues and collection fees also increase. Additional costs for certified notices and advertisements begin.
May: Tax title sale is held.
