Thursday at Patterson and Baldwin libraries

Daveed Korup is the lead drummer for Turku, a band that internationally perfroms the songs of the nomadic tribes of Turkey and Persia. He is also the creator and solo performer of “Drumfest,” a hands-on, interactive, multi-cultural drumming experience for people of all ages. He will be performing June 4 at 10 a.m. at the Patterson Branch Library and again at 2 p.m. at the West End Branch Library in Baldwin. Daveed introduces participants to the exciting world of percussion and rhythm. Accompanying, the Whack-a-Boom Orchestra uses brightly colored musical tubes (boom whackers) that follow the do-re-mi system of music making.
