Tornado watch for St. Mary until 6 p.m.

A tornado watch is in effect until 6 p.m. for St. Mary Parish and much of the rest of south Louisiana.

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornado formation, and residents of the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and local weathercasts.

The National Weather Service gives the Tri-City area a 90 percent chance of storms, possibly severe, later today. The biggest threats at damaging winds and large hail.
