Tour du Teche is Saturday; city to hold bayou event

Franklin’s portion of the Tour du Teche paddle race will be Saturday along the Bayou Teche.
Johnny Chauvin and Mojo will perform from 5 - 7 p.m. Alfred Hill, Ajah Diggs, Michelle Bradley and Joe Mitchell will perform from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Organizers for Tour du Teche ask residents who live along the route to cheer on the paddlers as they come down the Bayou Teche. According to the organizers, the racers enjoy hearing cow bells and cheering and seeing homemade signs as they make their way down the bayou.
The City of Franklin is requesting that citizens make noise and welcome the paddlers along the bayou and at Parc Sur La Teche, beginning at 5 p.m. Please bring homemade signs, cow bells and noisemakers to the finish line.
