Voter registration deadline is Wednesday
FRANKLIN — Registrar of Voters Jolene Holcombe announces the books will close Wednesday for the gubernatorial primary election Oct. 24.
Anyone wishing to vote in this election must be registered by the close of books. Early voting for the Oct. 24 election begins Saturday, Oct. 10, and continues through Saturday, Oct. 17.
Hours for early voting are 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Early voting will be conducted at the Registrar’s office on the third floor of the courthouse and also at the Registrar’s branch office at 301 Third St., Morgan City. You may vote early in either office regardless of your address.
The following issues are on the ballot:
—Governor.
—Lieutenant Governor.
—Secretary of State
—Attorney General.
—Treasurer.
—Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry.
—Commissioner of Insurance.
—BESE District 3.
—State Representative, 51st Representative District.
—District Judge, 16th Judicial District, Election Section 2, Division D.
—Sheriff.
—Parish President.
—Parish Council Member Districts 1, 2, 3, 5, 9 and 10.
—Alderman, Town of Baldwin (special election – unexpired term).
—Consolidated Gravity Drainage District No. 1 – Proposition Tax Renewal (8.11 mill property tax for 10 years) – West End of Parish.
—Four proposed Constitutional Amendments.
