Water line insurance letter not connected to city

A mailer is being distributed around the city about obtaining insurance for residential water lines, Morgan City Mayor Frank “Boo” Grizzaffi said.
“It gives the appearance that they’ve determined you’ve got water line problems, and it’s going to cost you a lot of money,” Grizzaffi said. The company named in the letter is HomeServe USA Repair Management Corp, he said.
The letter cites the person’s address and is an insurance solicitation, Grizzaffi said. Though the company is legitimate, Grizzaffi stressed that the city of Morgan City has no affiliation with the company, he said.
The note addresses people’s private water lines that run from the meter to their residences, Grizzaffi said.
