Patterson man arrested on drug warrant
A 28-year-old Patterson man was arrested on warrants for having drugs in his possession and theft, Morgan City Police Chief James Blair said.
—Jacob T. Alcina, 28, of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Patterson, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Thursday on warrants for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and theft under $750.
Alcina was located and arrested in the Morgan City City Court regarding active warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department by the probation and parole department .
The warrants were obtained from an investigation conducted by the Morgan City Police Department of an incident that occurred on Feb. 4.
During the arrest, officers located a substance suspected to be methamphetamine along with suspected drug paraphernalia. The substance was collected as evidence and sent to a criminal laboratory for analysis .
Officers also suspected that Alcina may have ingested an unknown amount of narcotics and was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. During treatment, Alcina allegedly committed a theft inside the medical facility.
Upon discovering the theft, the items were recovered and released back to the facility. Due to Alcina's medical condition, he was not charged with the incident that day.
The analysis on the substance was completed and identified the substance to be methamphetamine. The warrants were obtained based on the investigation.
Alcina was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Blair reported the following arrests:
—Tryalon A. Grogan, 24, of Wren Street in Morgan City at 3:51 p.m. Thursday on warrants for failure to appear for remaining where forbidden twice and failure to appear for contempt of court.
Grogan was located and arrested in the Morgan City City Court in regards to active warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Grogan was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
—Charleston J. Grogan, 21, of Wren Street in Morgan City, at 4:15 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear for simple battery.
Grogan was located and arrested in the Morgan City City Court regarding an active warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Grogan was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
—Benjamin Cheramie, 45, of Second Street in Morgan City, at 7:48 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for domestic abuse battery.
Cheramie was transported from the Berwick Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department Jail regarding an active warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City City Court.
Cheramie was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
—Tamera Stevens, 55, of Onstead Street in Morgan City, 2:38 a.m. today on two warrants for issuing worthless checks.
Stevens was located by officers at an address on La. 182. Stevens was arrested on active warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City City Court. Stevens was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 51 complaints in the parish and reported no arrests.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Benjamin Cheramie, 45, of Second Street in Berwick, at 5:19 p.m. Thursday on a Morgan City Police warrant charging him with simple battery domestic abuse. Cheramie posted bail.
—Aimee Leboeuf, 38, of Snead Street in Berwick, at 6:48 p.m. Thursday on the charge of DWI in the presence of a juvenile under age 12. Leboeuf posted bail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
