Run with the Fuzz is Saturday

BAYOU VISTA — The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Benevolent Association Run with the Fuzz 5-K Run/Walk kicks off at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Bayou Vista Community Center, according to a news release from St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert.
Traffic will be temporarily stopped at the intersections along the route to accommodate participants. For the safety reasons, Hebert asks that motorists be mindful of the race route and take alternate roadways if necessary, the release stated.
Both routes will begin and end on Belleview Street at the Bayou Vista Community Center. The 1-mile children’s run will go from Belleview Street to Teche Road, Delmar Road, and Southeast Boulevard before turning back onto Belleview. The 5-K race will take Belleview Street to Teche Road onto Delmar Road. It will proceed to Venus Road, Middle Road and Clark Road. Racers will turn onto Canal Road before returning back onto Teche Road and ending on Belleview Street.
Jambalaya and red beans will be served. Walgreens will also have a table set up offering health and well-being services. Those interested in participating in the run/walk may register the morning of the race for $25.
