Hernandez’s lawyers in court regarding papers

(AP) — Lawyers for Aaron Hernandez are due in court on their request for a subpoena to compel the New England Patriots to hand over Hernandez’s medical and other records.
Hernandez’s attorneys said last month the records are potentially relevant to the ex-NFL player’s circumstances and state of mind and are critical to preparations for his murder trial.
The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the 2013 shooting death of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancee. Two of his associates have also been charged with murder.
Hernandez has also pleaded not guilty in a second case in which he is charged with killing two men in Boston in 2012. He’s being held without bail.
