William David Baytop

William David Baytop, 65, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Morgan City, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, in Jackson.
Baytop was a veteran of the United States Army. He received his welding diploma, honorable discharge and various medals including the Purple Heart.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. today at Zion Chapel AME Church, 1511 Cherry St., Patterson.
Survivors include two daughters, Wiesha Baytop and Adrian Baytop, both of Patterson; two brothers, Jacob Baytop Jr. of Patterson and Percy Baytop Sr. of New Iberia; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and uncles.
