CCHS honors football, volleyball teams

Central Catholic honored its football and volleyball teams during an awards banquet at the Holy Cross Catholic Church’s Yvonne Anne Adams Life Center Wednesday.
Team members in both sports as well as volleyball managers were recognized.
The football team finished 5-7 overall and advanced to the second round of the Division 4 playoffs where it fell to eventual state champion Vermilion Catholic.
The volleyball team finished the season with a 29-14 record and made its fourth straight trip to the Division 5 state semifinals where it fell to eventual state champion Metairie Park Country Day.

—All-District: Conner (second-team center), Guarisco (first-team running back, defensive back and return specialist); Matthew Barbier (second-team kicker), Eriq Blanchard (honorable mention all-district defensive flex player), Garret LeBlanc (first-team linebacker), Hoffpauir (first-team wide receiver), Sage Thibodeaux (second-team linebacker), Charlie Barron (second-team defensive back), Galloway (second-team defensive line), Case (second-team punter and quarterback), Joe Michel (first-team defensive line and second-team offensive line), Samuel Guarisco (honorable mention defensive back), Travis Ruffin (honorable mention defensive line).

—KWBJ/Advanced Physical Therapy Player of the Week: Hoffpauir, Galloway and Blanchard.
