Vehicle hits utility pole causing Amelia outage

A vehicle that hit a utility pole near the Bayou Ramos Bridge caused a three-hour power outage in Amelia overnight, SLECA spokesman Mark Caldwell said this morning.
A vehicle struck the utility pole shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday splitting the pole in half causing all of Amelia to lose power, Caldwell said.
Utility crews restored power to the community by 2 a.m. today, Caldwell said.
