U.S. 90 wreck ties up traffic

A Patterson woman was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center Monday afternoon with unspecified injuries after being struck by a vehicle entering U.S. 90 from Place Norman Shopping Center. Melanie Henry, 46, was traveling westbound in a 2010 Mazda CX7 on U.S. 90 when Scott LeBlanc, 32, struck her as he attempted to enter the highway in his 1990 Chevrolet truck, according to Patterson police. LeBlanc was uninjured and ticketed on failure to yield with an accident, police said. His unidentified daughter was also uninjured. Everyone in the accident was wearing seatbelts, police said. Patterson police responded to the accident after multiple call-ins and a 911 call at 4:52 p.m.
