MRS. ATHLINE SIMON

Mrs. Athline Simon, 76, a resident of New Iberia and native of the Bayou Sale Community, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at 6:39 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital following a short illness.
She is survived by two sons, Anthony Carl Babineaux of New Iberia and James Arthur Simon Jr. of Beaumont, Texas; one daughter, Miss Kathy Simon of New Iberia; six brothers, Homer Brown and Donald Ray, both of Franklin, Larry and David Babino, both of Centerville, Wilfred Babino of New Iberia and Calvin Babino of St. Martinville; nine sisters, Miss Patsy Babino, Ms. Lucinda Wilson and Mrs. Shirlene Brown, all of Franklin, Mrs. Carrie Mae Daniels of Verdunville, Mrs. Willie Mae Babino Cooks, Mrs. Mary Babino Edwards, Mrs. Eva Mae Babino Williams, Ms. Bernice Babino and Mrs. Patricia Babino Castle, all of Centerville; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Simon was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one daughter, three brothers, four sisters and two granddaughters.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Otis Mortuary Chapel.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the mortuary, with the Rev. Wilson Ferguson Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery on Main Street.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
