Car show fundraiser for Fallen Warriors Memorial

The show, which was organized by the Southeast Louisiana Bayou Mustang Club, raised about $10,000 for the Fallen Warriors Memorial to be built at Cypress Park in Morgan City. Organizers need to raise about $150,000 to construct the memorial, he said. A groundbreaking ceremony in Cypress Park will take place Memorial Day. A dinner fundraiser will be held May 22 at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City. Tickets will go on sale after April 29, Marc Distefano, a project organizer, said. The guest speaker will be retired Maj. Gen. Larry Harrington, who Distefano met while stationed in Iraq.
