Angela Deville of the St. Mary Soil & Water Conservation District recently presented a program at Julia B. Maitland School. She was assisted by Sheila Bonvillain, an Earth Team volunteer. Students were taught the difference between dirt and soil and how important soil is in their lives. Students were able to dig in soil to find what it contained. Many students touched worms for the first time. Students in grades 2-5 participated and pictured are second graders from Vanessa Jackson class and Kristal Eimer’s class.
