EMMA DELL PIERRE

Emma Dell Pierre, 86, a resident and native of Charenton, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 5:30 a.m., at her daughter’s residence in Verdunville following a short illness.
She is survived by two sons, Calvin Pierre of Charenton and Edward Pierre of Conroe, Texas; five daughters, Norma Garrett of Dallas, Texas, Lillian Butler of Verdunville, Catherine Coleman of Beaumont, Texas, Theresa Milton of Charenton and Andrea Pierre of Beaumont, Texas; two brothers, Eldridge Nelson of Austin, Texas and Eugene Nelson of Jeanerette; 23 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Pierre was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Charenton.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at that church, with the Rev. Paul Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
