ELTON JAMES CHARLES SR.

Mr. Elton James Charles Sr., 73, a resident of Jeanerette and native of Glencoe, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at 6:20 p.m., at AMG Specialty Hospital in Lafayette following a short illness.
He is survived by three sons, Elton James Charles Jr., Patrick Charles and Derric Starling of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Deborah Charles of Houston, Texas; and two brothers, Robert Earl Charles of Four Corners and Chester Charles of Atlanta, Georgia.
Elton James Charles Sr. is the son of the late Chester Charles Sr. and Ruby August Charles of Glencoe.
Visitations will be observed Friday, May 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Otis Mortuary Chapel in Franklin.
Burial rites will be read Friday, at 11 a.m., at the mortuary, with the Rev. W.J. Otis officiating.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
