ANATOLE ‘BOZE’ DEROUEN JR.

Funeral services for Anatole “Boze” Derouen Jr. will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 2 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin. He will be laid to rest in St. Helen’s Florence Cemetery. The Rev. Tony Ronsonet will officiate the services.
Visitations will be held Friday, May 16, at Ibert’s Mortuary from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and again Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Boze was a native of Jeanerette and a longtime resident of Freetown, who passed away at the age of 83 on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at 9:45 a.m., at the Franklin Health Care Center.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Gloria Picard Derouen of Freetown; eight children, Gloria Jean Thibodeaux and her husband, Dexter, of Loreauville; Theresa Cowart and her husband, Calvin, of Four Comers; Louanna Wheeler of Freetown; Sally Guillotte and her husband, Butch, of New Iberia; Brenda Mire and her husband, Myron, of Patterson; Peggy Ronsonet and her husband, Tony, of Baldwin; Anatole “Lil Boze” Derouen III and his wife, Ann, of Jeanerette; and Cindy Estelle and her husband, Raymond, of Freetown; one brother, Walter Derouen Sr. of Franklin; one sister, Barbara Bonin of Baldwin; 26 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Mr. Derouen was preceded in death by one son, Ernest Joseph Derouen; his parents, Anatole Derouen Sr. and Helen Broussard Derouen Trosclair; one brother, Willie Derouen Sr.; one sister, Marguerite Picard; one grandson, Brian Millet; and one son-in-law, Brian Wheeler.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Derouen, Cory Mire, Roger Guillotte, Ellis Sinitiere, Scott Thibodeaux, Tony Ronsonet Jr., Jacob Cowart and Brent Giroir. Honorary pallbearers will be Julie Rodriguez, Brenda Mire, Sally Guillotte, Louanna Wheeler, Gloria Thibodeaux, Peggy Ronsonet, Theresa Cowart and Cindy Estelle.
