New CEO takes the helm at Foundation

Hospital Service District 1 commissioners welcomed Claudia Eisenmann Thursday at her first commission meeting as chief executive officer of Franklin Foundation Hospital.
“I’m really excited to be here,” she told the board. “I think this is a tremendous hospital with a great community, overwhelming support for what we do here. Wonderful medical staff, really so many pieces that are enviable when you compare this hospital to other places and particularly other hospitals of this size throughout the country.”
She said she is prepared to begin the strategic planning process in July for “prognosticating about where we need to go.”
Eisenmann has more than 20 years of experience leading acute care hospitals. She spent the last three years at Select Medical Corp. facilities in Pennsylvania and Delaware, according to her profile on LinkedIn.
In other business the board:
—Heard from Chief financial Officer Ron Bailey that the hospital realized close to a $92,000 profit in May, the eighth month of the fiscal year. The bottom-line surplus ended a downward slide of losses in the past three straight months and brought the year-to-date figure back into the black at $10,050.
—Approved keeping the annual tax millage assessment at the same rate as previous for a total of 12.93 mills.
