Pony 14s win section opener

St. Mary Pony 14s started their action in the Pony 14 & Under Section Tournament with an 11-1 victory in five innings against Broussard-Youngsville Association.
Kyle Pitre tossed a complete-game three-hitter, recording eight strikeouts.
Offensively, Lukas Carnley led St. Mary with a 2-for-2 performance with a triple, two RBIs and two runs, while Joel Singleton was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs.
Other contributors for St. Mary were Hayden Pinho, 2-for-3, an RBI and a run; Kyle Boudreaux, 1-for-2, two RBIs and a run; Pitre, 1-for-3, two RBIs and a run; Cade Thibodeaux, 1-for-1, two runs; and Reid Wiley, 1-for-3, a run.
St. Mary will return to action today when it plays the Crowley Nationals at 8 p.m.
