Driver in fatal crash pleads not guilty

HOUMA (AP) — A man accused of crashing his vehicle into a Schriever home killing one and injuring another has pleaded not guilty to multiple felonies.
Twenty-year-old Tony Milligan, of Houma, is accused of killing 2-year-old Taylor Strickland and injuring her mother, 24-year-old Brittany Strickland, when the vehicle he was driving crashed on June 27.
Milligan faces charges of vehicular homicide, first-degree vehicular negligent injury, vehicular negligent injury, two counts of careless operation, hit and run and no seat belt.
Milligan entered his plea on Monday.
His trial is scheduled for Nov. 3. He remains in Terrebonne Parish Jail on a $300,000 bond.
State police say Milligan lost control of his truck while fleeing a hit-and-run wreck and crashed into a house.
