Man, woman book on drug charges in Bayou L’Ourse

Two people were arrested on drug charges in Bayou L’Ourse at a residence that has been the subject of numerous complaints about drug activity and manufacturing of crystal meth, Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack said in a news release.
A search warrant for the residence of Christopher Brown in the 100 block of Elaine Street in Bayou L’Ourse was executive Wednesday.
Brown, 41, and Kayla M. McNeely, 22, were arrested, Waguespack said.
A 2-year-old and 4-year-old child were present at the residence at the time the search warrant was served, he said.
Brown was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Wednesday for possession of Schedule I marijuana, first offense, two counts possession of Schedule IV, Xanax and Clonazepam, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of persons under 17 years of age, Waguespack said. His bond was set at $31,239.00 and he has made bail and been release, he said.
McNeely was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Wednesday for possession of Schedule II crystal meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice (destruction of evidence during search), illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of persons under 17 years of age, Waguespace said. Her bond has been set at $25,500 and she has made bail, he said.
