Arrests reports

A 47-year-old Morgan City man was eventually apprehended in Verdunville this morning after he was accused of having almost hit a Franklin police officer when the officer tried to conduct a traffic stop for loud music, Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire said in a news release.
Willie Vallet Jr., 47, of Marshall Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:34 a.m. today for four counts of stop sign violation, aggravated flight from an officer, reckless operation, resisting an officer with force and violence, suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia third offense.
Vallet was also charged on a warrant for Third Ward City Court for failure to appear on the charges of stop sign violation and expired driver’s license and on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on the charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Vallet was jailed with no bail set yet.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported deputies responded to 37 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Amy Dehart, 32, of the 100 block of Circle Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:16 a.m. Tuesday for reckless operation of a motor vehicle. A deputy patrolling the Morgan City area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on La. 70.
The deputy issued Dehart, the driver of the vehicle, a citation for speeding. After receiving the citation, Dehart accelerated at a high rate of speed, nearly striking the deputy’s foot, Hebert said. The deputy conducted a second traffic stop during which Dehart was charged with reckless operation, the sheriff said. Dehart was released on a summons to appear on court on Nov. 24.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Davonte J. Williams, 22, of Bowman Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for possession of marijuana and a warrant for probation violation.
Williams was transferred from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked on outstanding warrants. He was released, being credited with time served.
—Nhirobi H. Dewey, 18, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday for contempt of court. Dewey was arrested in the City Court of Morgan City and jailed with bail set at $642.
—Michael D. Stover, 41, of First Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:09 p.m. Tuesday for appearing intoxicated in public.
Officers were dispatched to a La. 182 apartment complex in regard to an intoxicated person. Officers located Stover, who appeared extremely impaired and could barely stand on his own, Banks said. Stover was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
