Loreauville topples WSM Wolfpack

LOREAUVILLE _ Shae’ahn Lee scored three touchdowns, leading the Loreauville Tigers to a 54-6 triumph over the West St. Mary Wolfpack here Thursday at Tiger Stadium in non-district action.
Loreauville (1-0) capitalized on four West St. Mary turnovers in building a 41-0 lead through the second quarter.
West St. Mary (0-2) scored on a La’Bryson Polidore to Thaddeus Gabriel 52-yard aerial strike in the second quarter as the Wolfpack trailed 41-6.
Loreauville scored five times in the opening period with Rhashid Bonnette grabbing the first of his two touchdowns on a 35-yard TD strike from quarterback Jared Henry. A short time later, Henry took matters into his own hands with a 53-yard scoring jaunt. Lee scored the first of his three touchdowns on a 2-yard run before Carlos Rosas booted the extra point, sending the Tigers outfront by a 19-0 advantage.
Loreauville secured a 28-0 lead over the Wolfpack when safety Ronnie Jeanlouis sacked West St. Mary in the endzone for a safety before Lee broke free on a 13-yard TD and Rosas kicked the extra point to end first quarter.
Bonnette was on the receiving end a 62-yard scoring strike from Henry to open the second quarter and Bryson Broussard hit paydirt from eight yards out, sending the Tigers outfront by a 41-0 margin.
West St. Mary struck back with a vengeance when Gabriel hauled in a 52-yard TD pass from Polidore.
Early in the third quarter, the Tigers collected a 25-yard interception return from safety Ronnie Jeanlouis and a 5-yard touchdown from Lee to capped the 54-6 victory.
Four West St. Mary players took turns passing with Gabriel completing 4 of 8 passes for 15 yards while Shelby Phillips was 3 of 8 for 20 yards and one interception. La’Bryson Polidore went 2 for 4 for 59 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Dondre Johnson was 1 for 2 for 2 yards.
Jared Henry led the Tigers with 9 of 19 completions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Henry was also the Tigers’ leading rusher with five carries for 75 yards and one TD while Lee finished with eight totes for 57 yards and two TDs. Brennan Williams had six carries for 34 yards and Bryson Broussard had 4 carries for 34 yards and one TD.
Gabriel led the Wolfpack in rushing with six carries for 57 yards while Torrance Ballard carried three times for seven yards.
Gabriel was the Wolfpack’s top receiver with four catches for 75 yards and one TD while Wayne Armelin making three catches for two yards.
Bonnette finished with four catches for 106 yards and one touchdown while Brant Hazelwood hauled in three passes for 25 yards.
The West St. Mary Wolfpack (0-2) will travel to face the Morgan City Tigers next Friday at 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium in Morgan City.
