Arrest reports

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 45 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Michele Ashley, 45, of the 100 block of South Verret Street in Amelia, was arrested at 7:07 p.m. Tuesday for domestic abuse aggravated assault. A deputy responded to a welfare concern complaint at a residence on South Verret Street. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Ashley brandished a knife in a threatening manner at a male victim during an argument, Hebert said. Ashley was jailed with no bail set.
—Hector Rivera, 41, of the 5000 block of Charlies Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday for possession of a Legend Drug without a prescription. A deputy responding to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista made contact with Rivera. The deputy received consent to search Rivera’s backpack and located the pills for which Rivera did not have a prescription, Hebert said. Rivera was jailed with no bail set.
—A juvenile female, 15, of Galliano, was arrested at 11:17 a.m. Tuesday for runaway juvenile. A deputy was informed by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office of a runaway juvenile that was possibly in St. Mary Parish. The deputy located the juvenile at a residence in Bayou Vista. The juvenile was released to the custody of Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives.
—Blake Smith, 23, of the 300 block of Taft Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal trespassing. A deputy located Smith at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse on the warrant. Smith was jailed and released on $1,500 bail.
—John Cooper, 25, of the 200 block of Williams Street in Patterson, was arrested at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday on two Lafayette Parish warrants for failure to appear. The original charges are driving under suspension and speeding. A deputy investigating a report of a crash on U.S. 90 in Bayou Vista made contact with Cooper and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Cooper was jailed with no bail set.
—Cole Fruge, 22, of the 1300 block of Saturn Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:52 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for criminal trespass. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area located Fruge on the front porch of a residence on Saturn Road on the warrant.
The Aug. 26 warrant stems from an investigation into a trespassing complaint. Fruge was identified as the person seen jumping over a fence at a residence, Hebert said. Fruge was jailed and released on $1,000 bail.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Keith A. Singleton, 45, of 11th Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:24 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for felony theft more than $500.
Detectives began an investigation regarding a theft of a barbecue pit from a Florence Street residence which was reported Sept. 6. The victim was able to provide investigators with video surveillance recordings which led to the identification of Singleton as a suspect in the theft.
Detectives, based on interviews and the video evidence provided, were able to secure an arrest warrant for the theft of the barbecue pit which was valued at $750, Banks said. Detectives located Singleton at an Oak Street residence and placed him under arrest for the theft. He was jailed. However, the item was not recovered and the investigation is ongoing, Banks said.
—Casey N. Francois, 28, of Mallard Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant for two counts for probation violation and a warrant for failure to pay a fine.
Francois turned herself in to officers at the Morgan City Police Department and was booked on outstanding warrants for the Sixth Ward Court of Morgan City. She was jailed.
—Paul E. Cleveland, 34, of Marshall Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:18 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for speeding; a warrant for no driver’s license and a warrant for expired license plate.
Cleveland was located at the Berwick Police Department and placed under arrest on warrants for the Morgan City Police Department. He was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Susan Sons, 52, of John Street in Berwick, was arrested at 12:26 p.m. Tuesday on a Terrebonne Parish warrant for two counts of issuing worthless checks. Sons was transferred to Terrebonne Parish.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
