Weston pleads guilty to murder

Junior Weston, 48, of Patterson, pleaded guilty Sept. 15 to second degree murder for the killing of Dominque Bennett in December 2012 and was sentenced to life in prison without parole, probation or suspension of sentence, Assistant District Attorney Anthony Saleme.
Weston was arraigned Feb. 20 and entered a plea of not guilty. His trial was set for Oct. 20, Saleme said. Weston originally was charged with first degree murder the day after Bennett’s death.
Police found the body of Dominique Bennett, 26, on Dec. 12, 2012, after breaking down the door to her Williams Street apartment, according to news reports at the time.
