‘Night Out Against Crime’ Wednesday in Lawrence Park

Doric Lodge No. 205 of the Free & Accepted Masons and the Morgan City Police Department will again partner together to host the second annual “Night Out Against Crime” from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Lawrence Park, according to a Morgan City Police Department news release.
Live music will be provided by Toni O and the Wheelhouse along with Scott Michael of South 70. Food will be prepared by East Gate BBQ, with games, face painting and other activities for all. Drawings for door prizes such as bicycles will take place throughout the event, the release stated.
Children will have the opportunity to bring home a new fishing rod and reel in a “Backyard Bass” competition, the news release stated. Agencies from throughout our area that help to make our community a safer place to live will be on hand to answer questions and greet visitors, the release said.
The Morgan City Police Department will host others from the Morgan City Fire Department, U.S. Coast Guard, St. Mary Parish Office of Homeland Security, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department, Acadian Ambulance Service, City Marshal of Morgan City, and the Louisiana State Police. Other participants include Walgreens Drug Store, Morgan City Urgent Care, Lirette Ford, East Gate BBQ and others, the release stated.
