Lady Panthers fall to Central Lafourche

Central Lafourche swept the Berwick Lady Panthers 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-15) at home Monday.
Senior Hannah Carpenter led the Lady Panthers with two aces, one kill, one assist and 14 digs, while senior Abigail Askew had seven kills.
Other top contributors included junior Ashton Morales, two aces, one block and eight assists; senior Rennen DeLatte, three aces and four digs; and sophomore Roslyn Gros, one ace and six digs.
Berwick (9-7) will return to action today when it opens District 6-III play at home against Donalsonville. Junior varsity action will begin at 4:30 p.m. with varsity to follow at 5:30 p.m.
Morgan City falls
to Assumption
Morgan City High School fell at Assumption 3-0 (12-25, 15-25, 15-25) in volleyball action Thursday.
Assumption entered the contest as the top-ranked team in Division 2, according to last week’s unofficial Louisiana High School Athletic Association power rankings. Morgan City was ranked No. 21 in Division 3.
Senior Jaiveianna Jones led the Lady Tigers with 10 kills, two blocks, one assist and seven digs.
Other top contributors included senior Brandi Ingram, two assists and 12 digs; freshman Kennedy Hebert, one ace, three kills, one assist and five digs; junior Cecily Feliciano, one block, nine assists and three digs; junior Dwanna LeBeau, five kills and three digs; and junior Karley Guidry, seven assists and four digs.
In junior varsity action, Morgan City fell 11-25, 13-25.
Sophomore Brandi Albarado led the Lady Tigers with 11 digs, while sophomore Paige Loftin had three kills.
Other top contributors included freshman Allie Vincent, one kill, three assists and one dig; and sophomore Faith Crappell, one ace, one kill and three digs.
Morgan City (5-9) will return to action today when it opens District 6-III play at Patterson. Action will begin at 4 p.m.
Terrebonne beats CCHS in four games
Terrebonne High School defeated Central Catholic 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23) in Morgan City Thursday.
Senior Kaitlyn Gros led the Lady Eagles with 21 assists and 19 digs, while senior Brittany Longman had nine kills and freshman Quincee Wiggins, eight kills.
Other top contributors included sophomore Hallie Autin, 10 blocks and three aces; freshman Hanna McCue, five blocks; and sophomore Emma Aucoin, 16 digs.
Central Catholic (5-13) will return to action Friday when it begins play in Archbishop Hannan’s tournament.
