Joseph Clifford Faulk Sr.

KAPLAN — A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph Clifford Faulk Sr., 73, was at 11 a.m. today, Monday Oct. 6, 2014, in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Kaplan. The Rev. Cedric Sonnier officiated. Visitation was from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct., 5, with a rosary said at 6 p.m. in David Funeral Home of Abbeville. Visitation resumed today from 8 a.m. until service time. Interment followed in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Mr. Faulk passed away Sept. 30, 2014. He was a native and resident of Kaplan. He worked for Lynn Romero Trucking for more than 18 years. He was a Vietnam Army veteran serving as a surgical tech. He was a member of the Kaplan American Legion Post 271. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and his fruit trees. He was a jack of all trades and was known as the “Gentle Giant.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dula Simon Faulk; and a sister, Ella Rose Dozar.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Justilian Faulk, of Kaplan; his son, Joseph C. “Jay” Faulk Jr., and wife, Angie, of Kaplan; his daughter, Melissa M. Faulk Coates, of Kaplan; his grandchildren, Alicia, Jessica, Jennifer, Charles “Aaron”, Trinity, Ryan; and a great-grandchild on the way.
