LEROY _ North Vermilion tallied 26 first half points en route to a 33-6 District 6-3A victory over the West St. Mary Wolfpack here Friday.
With the win, the Patriots improved to 3-5 and 2-1 in league play while the West St. Mary Wolfpack slipped to 0-8 and 0-3.
North Vermilion’s Seth Patin caught a 45-yard touchdown strike from quarterback Ty Desomeaux to open the scoring. NVHS’ defense added a safety and an interception return for a touchdown to move to a 15-0 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Patin led the Patriots on three scoring drives the rest of the way on a four-yard TD pass, a 37 yard field goal along with a 34-yard TD catch as NVHS sailed outfront by a huge margin.
West St. Mary’s Torrance Ballard scored on a 53-yard scoring jaunt in the third quarter as the Wolfpack avoided the shutout.
West St. Mary will travel to play Erath in District 6-3A action on Friday.
