Police Reports 11-24-17

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Two juvenile females, both age 14, and another age 13, were arrested Friday at 8 a.m. on a charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. They were released to guardians pending juvenile court.
James Kelly, 39, of 729 Gilchrist Lane, Ricohoc, was arrested Friday at 9:46 a.m. on a warrant charging him with principal to aggravated cruelty to animals.
Also arrested was Jonathan Killingsworth, 24, of 79 Martin Lane, Patterson, Friday at 10:16 a.m. on a warrant charging him with principal to aggravated cruelty to animals.
A deputy investigating a complaint of a dead bull on the Patterson levee identified Kelly and Killingsworth as the two subjects who were passengers in a vehicle that allegedly struck the animal while trespassing on the levee. Both were transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
Jermaine Keys, 39, of 138 Aucoin Road, Amelia, was arrested Friday at 9:54 a.m. on a failure to appear warrant on charges of driving under suspension and no seat belt.
Angela Weber, 47, of 809 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested Saturday at 12:09 a.m. on a charge of unauthorized removal of a shopping cart. She was released on a summons.
Didier Marquez-Sanchez, 34, of 203 Trevino St., No. 11, Berwick, was arrested Saturday at 1:59 a.m. on a charge of simple battery. He was released on $500 bond.
Shane P. Trosclair, 4682 Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, was arrested Saturday at 5:36 a.m. on a charge of battery of the infirm. He was released on $7,500 bond.
Jasmine Junifer, 25, of 633 Terrebonne St., Morgan City, was arrested Sunday at 6:14 p.m. on a charge of theft of goods and released on a summons.
Michael Jack, 43, of 1146 La. 83, Lot 1, Baldwin, was arrested Sunday at 6:32 p.m. on charges of disturbing the peace intoxicated and remaining where forbidden. Bond was set at $1,000.
Tommy McNally, 44, of 1309 Middle Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested today at 12:14 a.m. on a charge of hit and run driving. He was released on a summons.
Howard P. Smith Jr., 44, of 142 Pond Drive, Morgan City, was arrested Sunday at 10:22 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant on charges of domestic abuse battery and simple criminal damage to property. He was released on $2,500 bond.
Narcotics Division agents reported the arrest of Debra A. Scelfo, 58, of 517 Willow St., Franklin, Friday at 4:35 p.m. on a warrant charging her with 38 counts of obtaining a prescription by fraud. Hebert said that detectives with the Narcotics Division began an investigation into a complaint of alleged prescription fraud. Detectives reportedly discovered that Scelfo used Medicaid and three prescriptions that did not belong to her to fraudulently obtain Vyvanse pills over the course of a year. Detectives made contact with Scelfo at her residence and subsequently transported her to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $50,000.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of Austin Hebert, 17, of Newman Street, Baldwin, Friday at 11:24 a.m. on charges of disturbing the peace by loud and profane language, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was released on $3,750 bond.
Michael Payton, 26, of Liner Street, Franklin, was arrested Friday at 11:43 p.m. on warrants charging him with disturbing the peace by loud and profane language, simple battery, simple assault and no driver’s license, as well as district court warrants charging him with failure to appear for drug court, failure to appear on charges of no head lights, no driver’s license, no child restraint and failure to honor a written promise. No bond was set.
The following two arrests resulted from officers responding to a complaint at 11:37 a.m. of shoplifting at a business on Joe Hoy Road. Officers were given a description of the vehicle driven by the suspects. Officers located the vehicle traveling on Main Street but the vehicle reportedly refused to stop for officers and continued driving to the Baldwin area where the suspects ran from the vehicle. With assistance from the Baldwin Police Department and St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, the suspects were located at a residence on Collins Street. in Baldwin.
David Burrell Sr., 54, of Franklin, was charged with theft of goods by shoplifting, failure to secure registration, no seat belt, criminal trespassing, muffler excessive smoke, possession of drug paraphernalia, remaining where forbidden, aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer, reckless operation, no insurance and unsafe vehicle. No bond was set.
Sasha Roberts, 38, of Franklin, was charged with seventh offense theft by shoplifting, second offense possession of drug paraphernalia, misrepresentation during booking, criminal trespassing, remaining where forbidden, no seat belt, resisting an officer and principal to aggravated flight from an officer. No bond was set.
McGuire cautioned citizens about leaving valuables visible in their vehicles. There have been several reports of vehicles having their windows being broken and valuables being taken that were in plain view inside of the vehicle.
