SHIRLEY MAE RIDEAUX NOLASCO
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Shirley Mae Rideaux Nolasco, 72, at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Jeanerette, with Fr. Dismas Mauk as celebrant.
She will await the resurrection at St. Peter United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8 a.m., Saturday at the Church until time of services with a rosary to be recited at 10 a.m., in the church sanctuary.
A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, she passed at 2:29 p.m. Thursday, at Iberia Medical Center.
She was a former member of Saint Peter United Methodist Church where she was instrumental in the church fundraisers. In addition, she was District Manager for Superior Life Insurance Company of Baton Rouge.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Cathy Pratt of Lafayette and Philishawn Alexander of New Iberia; five sons, Charles Ray Alexander Jr. (Kathlena) of Cade, LA, Lionel Alexander of Richardson, TX, Elder Kenward Alexander Sr. (Veronica) of Lafayette, Donald Alexander Sr. and Mark Alexander Sr., both of Houston, TX; a longtime companion, Henry Thomas of New Iberia; one brother, Raymond Rideaux Jr. of Abbeville; 21 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Rideaux Sr. and Hazel Vallot Rideaux; her former husband, Rev. Charles Ray Alexander Sr.; son, Rev. Roger James Alexander; two grandsons, Justin Pratt and Franklin Jackson Jr.; one granddaughter, Candace Alexander; daughter-in-law, Yolanda Alexander; and two sisters, Audrey Mae Pickney and Ethel Mae Renthrope.
Active pallbearers will be Julien Ross Pratt, Mark Kevin Alexander Jr., Kyle Michael Pratt, Blake Anthony Alexander, Christian Michal Pratt, and Charles Ray Alexander III.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Ray Alexander Jr., Lionel Wayne Alexander, Donald Eric Alexander, Mark Kevin Alexander, Raymond Rideaux Jr., William Charles Pickney and Henry Thomas.
