Lady Hornets ease by Lady Panthers

DELCAMBRE _ Fabian Small, Wynesha Jenkins, Quanta Jones and Chardonnae Parker all scored in double figures to lead the Franklin Senior High School Lady Hornets to a 71-26 victory over the Catholic High School of New Iberia Lady Panthers here Saturday in the 11th annual Lynette Viator Memorial Tournament.
Franklin jumped out front by a 26-7 first quarter lead before holding a 30-15 cushion at intermission. Franklin stretched its lead to 45-18 at the end of the third quarter before pulling out the huge 71-26 victory.
Small poured in a game-high 21 points. Jenkins tossed in 19 points while Jones bagged 13 points. Chardonnae Parker finished with 10 points while Kaira Butler had 4 with Samantha Frederick and Abriana Burrell scoring two points each.
Franklin will play host to St. Martinville tonight beginning at 5 with the FSHS Hornets hosting the Morgan City Tigers after the girls contest.
