Vehicle knocks house off its foundation
A vehicle knocked a house in the 400 block of Bayou Drive off its foundation in a crash that occurred about 6:45 p.m. Friday, Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack said.
Joseph Marcus Dabadie, 23, of the 800 block of Blackburn Road in Hammond, and two passengers were driving south on Bayou Drive in Pierre Part when the vehicle ran off the road, destroying a gas meter and crashing into the house, Waguespack said.
Dabadie was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City and routine toxicology tests are pending, he said.
Dabadie was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Friday on charges of DWI third offense, insurance violation, driving under suspension, and improper lane usage, the sheriff said. His bail had not been set and he was still in custody at the time of the news release.
Additional charges and more arrests are likely to follow, Waguespack said. Anyone with information concerning this case or others is asked to contact the communications division at 985-369-2912.
