Morgan City, La. --
Workers pulled two old pumps Monday at a St. Mary Parish Consolidated Gravity Drainage District 2 pumping station on Victor II Boulevard, Morgan City Public Works Supervisor Jean Paul Bourg said. The two non-functioning pumps, which can pump 36,000 gallons per minute when functioning properly, were taken out to be rebuilt. Reconstructing the pumps might take about a month, Bourg said. The station has a total of five pumps, three of which are functioning, he said.
