Barbara Joyce “Bobbie” Stansbury

Barbara Joyce “Bobbie” Stansbury, a native of Berwick and a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, in Thibodaux at the age of 83.
“Bobbie” is survived by her children, Gary Stansbury Sr. and wife, Jane, of Morgan City, Mary Ellen Stansbury Percle and husband, Malcolm, of New Iberia, Cheryl Boudreaux LeBoeuf and husband, James Jr., of Morgan City, and James Stansbury Jr. and wife, Deanna, of Amelia; daughter-in-law, Bernadette Boudreaux, of Morgan City; sisters, Aline Smith, of Westwego, and Ruth Daigle, of Morgan City; sisters-in-law, Helen Ross, of Morgan City, and Evelyn Morrison, of Morgan City; 12 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her husbands, Merlin Boudreaux Sr. and James Stansbury Sr.; two sons, Kim Stansbury and Merlin Boudreaux Jr.; parents, Charles Ross and Effie Boudreaux Ross; sisters, Irma Written, Hattie Melancon and Florence Higganbotham; brothers, Irving “Chuck” Ross, Lawrence Ross, Charles Ross, Harris Ross and Cecil Ross; and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Marie Cronier.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at Hargrave Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. and continuing Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at Hargrave Funeral Home from 8 a.m. until 10.30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Bobbie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
