Lady Tigers stop Lady Wolfpack

BALDWIN _ Casey Fitzgerald drained three treys, leading the Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers to a 35-26 victory over the West St. Mary Lady Wolfpack in a non-district contest Monday at the West St. Mary Gymnasium.
Hanson Memorial led from wire to wire, building a 9-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Tigers outpointed the Lady Wolfpack by a narrow 8-7 margin in the second stanza to take a 17-12 halftime cushion at intermission. In the third quarter, the Hanson Lady Tigers enjoyed a 10-9 run, gaining a 27-21 advantage. In the final period, HMS went on an 8-5 flurry to nail down the 35-26 victory.
Fitzgerald led all scorers with 14 points on three treys, a pair of deuces and one charity shot. Haley Bollinger poured in seven points while Allyssa Young bagged five points. Baylee Young finished with four points while Sarah Daniel and Stephanie Roig scored two points with Sarah Sonnier adding one point.
Jakyrin Connor tossed in 10 points on two treys and two deuces to lead the Lady Wolfpack. Other top scorers for West St. Mary were: Myria Druilhet, 8; Tajah Lofton, 6 and Chyna Druilhet, 2.
