CHS Bulldogs win third straight

HOLDEN _ Centerville boys won their third straight to improve to 3-13 overall and 2-0 in District 8-B with a 59-38 road win at Holden.
Centerville assumed control early, taking a 16-12 lead at the end of the first period. During the second and third quarters, the Centerville Bulldogs went on a 33-12 flurry for a huge 49-24 advantage. Centerville strolled away with its second straight district win with the 58-37 triumph over Holden.
Centerville’s leading scorer was Jaylon Williams with 17 points on four deuces and three treys. Lance Howard finished with 16 points on five deuces and a pair of treys. Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs were: Cameron Pogue, 11 points; Cole Candella, 7; Rodrick Harris, 3; Marvin Strawder, 2, and Jaqualon Bourgeois, 2.
Aaron Carlton tossed in 16 while Zach Addison canned eight points to lead Holden.
In girls action, the Holden Lady Rockets posted a 50-16 win over the Centerville Lady Bulldogs.
Centerville’s top scorers were: Kayla Robinson, 8; Altria Austin, 3; Roshayla Gunner, 2; Jasmine Gunner, 2, and Nykeytra Kennedy, 1.
Centerville will host Martin Luther King Charter tonight beginning at 5:15.
