Saint Petersburg State “Russian Ballet” coming to New Orleans

Saint Petersburg State “Russian Ballet” will present “Swan Lake,” Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s timeless masterpiece, in New Orleans April 23. New Orleans in one of only seven stops on the Russian Ballet’s limited U.S. tour. The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Mahalia Jackson Theater of Performing Arts.
The ballet company presents celebrated classical ballets to audiences worldwide. Created in 1990 by the family of professional ballet dancers, The Saint Petersburg State “Russian Ballet” dynasty is more than 100 years old. It adheres to the signature aspects of Russian ballet as a whole: true expressivity, dramatic presentation and impeccable technical presentation.
Members of the troupe are graduates of the famed Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, founded in 1738. The world-class dancers perform to sold-out audiences worldwide.
