HMS Tigers topple Gueydan

GUEYDAN _ The Hanson Memorial Tigers ran their District 7-1A record to a perfect 10-0 after dominating the Gueydan Bears 17-1 in an abbreviated contest here Wednesday at the GHS Baseball Field.
Hanson (21-2) remained perfect in league play at 10-0 with the win over Gueydan in five innings.
Hanson’s Noah Judice notched the mound victory with help from reliever Skyler Fitch.
Judice hurled three innings, facing 13 batters throwing 43 total pitches with 30 strikes and 13 balls. He yielded one run (none earned) on one hit with six strikeouts and one walk.
Fitch pitched two innings, giving up one unearned run on one hit with two strikeouts and one base-on-balls. Fitch tossed 30 pitches with 16 strikes and 14 balls over two frames while facing eight batters.
Leading hitters for the Tigers were: Luke Lancon, 2 runs, 2 RBIs; Bo Barrilleaux, 1 for 3, double, 2 runs, RBI; Evan Thibodeaux, 1 for 1, RBI; Cameron Stovall, 1 for 2, 3 runs, Brandon Bonin, run; John Guienze, run; Britt Young, 1 for 3, 2 runs, RBI; Brennan Young, 1 for 2, 2 runs, RBI; Jacob Hebert, 1 for 3; Luke Rodriguez, run, Josh Sanchez, 1 for 1, run, 3 RBI and Payton Trahan, run.
Hanson is currently 21-2 overall and 10-0 in District 7-1A.
