DENNIS CRAIG FURLETTE

August 2, 1963 — April 25, 2015
Dennis Craig Furlette, 51, of Morgan City, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015.
Dennis was born in Flint, Michigan. In his early 20s, he became the beloved father of Melissa and Jonathan. Dennis was a Tool and Die Maker and Machinist, dedicated to this work for over 30 years.
He had an open mind and heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He had a contagious laugh and smile. Dennis had a love for high speed competition, especially in motorsports and ice hockey.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary O’Dea Furlette.
He is survived by his father, James Furlette of Ft. Myers, Florida; a sister, Donna Furlette-McClung of Gainesville, Georgia; two brothers, Jim Furlette of Morgan City and Tom (Lynn) of Jefferson, Georgia; a son, Jonathan Furlette of Ann Arbor, Michigan; a daughter, Melissa Furlette-Koski (Sara) of Oak Park, Illinois; and nephews, Ted, Drew, James Jr., J.T. and Nate Furlette. He also is survived by many extended family members and friends in the Recovery community.
Visitation was at Meuhlig Funeral Chapel, 403 S. 4th Avenue, Ann Arbor, Michigan, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Friends and family also gathered at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, May 6, 2015, prior to his Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Student Parish, 331 Thompson Street, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104. The Rite of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s, followed by a luncheon at the church. Burial followed the luncheon at St. John’s Cemetery, 2945 E. Northfield Church Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105.
Dennis’ children would appreciate your prayers and would welcome donations made on behalf of Dennis Furlette to the Faith community of St. Mary’s student parish at the University of Michigan or Dawn Farm.
