Morgan City High School seniors graduate tonight

Morgan City High School’s commencement ceremonies will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium for invited guests only.
Leading the class are 4.0 graduates including Callie Breaux, Reagan Daigle, Emily Fromenthal, Johnny Ha, Tyler Hebert, Thao Le, Jacqueline Nguyen, Juliana Nguyen, LeeAnne Price, and Diana Tran. These 10 summa cum laude graduates will deliver speeches.
Breaux, the daughter of Diane and Steven Breaux, plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major in mechanical engineering.
She has been involved in several organizations and activities including Students Against Destructive Decisions, Beta Club, Student Council, Historical Society, Tiger Mentors, and the Foreign Language Society.
Breaux was a member of the MCHS swim team for four years and has received numerous awards such as the Catholic Youth Leadership Award, Student of the Month Award, merit awards, and record-breaking awards for swim team.
Daigle, the daughter of Crystal and Darryl Daigle, plans to attend Nicholls State University and major in computer information systems. She was a member of the MCHS band for four years and Beta Club for two years. She also was a member of the MCHS tennis team. She participated in St. Mary Parish Honor Band for seven years and District Honor Band for three years.
Fromenthal, the daughter of John and Cheryl Fromenthal, plans to attend Nicholls and major in dietetics. She was involved in Beta Club, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Historical Society and Yearbook, where she served as editor.
Ha, the son of Hai and Huong Ha, plans to major in mechanical engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Ha has been a member of many organizations including Student Council, Beta Club, Foreign Language Society, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Tiger Tracks Ambassadors, Historical Society, Art club, and Yearbook. He also played for the MCHS Tennis Team and received the LHSAA Academic Composite Boy’s Tennis Team Award.
Hebert, the daughter of Kitty and Joseph Hebert, plans to attend LSU. Hebert was a member of Beta Club, and the volleyball and softball teams. Hebert was named Academic All-State and second team All-District.
Le, the daughter of Mai-Huong Nguyen and Tung Le, plans to attend Nicholls and major in nursing. She was a member of the Beta Club, Student Council, Foreign Language Society and Historical Society.
Jacqueline Nguyen, the daughter of Nhai Nguyen and the late Tho Nguyen, plans to major in social studies education at Nicholls. Nguyen was a member of Beta Club, Student Council, Foreign Language Society and Historical Society. She was awarded the principal’s list, perfect attendance and Student of the Month.
Juliana Nguyen, the daughter of Teresa Nguyen, plans to attend Nicholls and major in dentistry.
She was a member of Beta Club, Student Council, Foreign Language Society, Historical society, and Tiger Tracks Ambassadors. She was also recognized as Student of the Month, Voice of Democracy, and departmental awards for geometry, algebra 2, advanced math, chemistry, biology, art, and English 1.
Price, the daughter of Alicia Price and John Price, plans to attend Nicholls and major in nursing. Price participated in Historical Society, Key Club, Beta Club and Student Council. She was also a member of the soccer and volleyball teams. Price was named first team All-District, best defensive player, and LHSAA Academic All-State.
Tran, the daughter of Lien Lam and Thanh Tran, plans to attend Louisiana-Lafayette and major in mechanical engineering. She was a member of Beta Club, Student Council, Foreign Language Society, the Green Club, Historical Society, Students Against Destructive Decisions, and Tiger Tracks Mentors.
Tran was recognized as MCHS Student of the Year and St. Mary Parish Student of the Year. She has also received the Fighting Tiger Award, department awards for world geography, art 1, FACS 1, physical science, English 2, and chemistry 2. She also received the Doric Lodge Honesty and Integrity Award.
Other summa cum laude graduates who achieved grade-point averages between 3.75 and 3.999 are Ocean Armond, Ashanta August, Kayley Booty, Jolecia Brown, Brady Fryou, Shayna Furneaux, Oz’Zanay Jones, Tiana Landry, Minh Luu, Damian Mahoney, Nghia Nguyen, Valeria Nolazco, Alyssa Price and Jamie Scioneaux.
