GERALDINE ALEXANDER MATTHEWS

Geraldine Alexander Matthews, 71, a native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Jeanerette, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 4 p.m., at her residence.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, May 23, at the First Jerusalem Baptist Church 835 Monnot Rd., Jeanerette, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Heavenly Rest Cemetery of Jeanerette.
Cherished and divine memories will forever be remembered by her husband, Lionel Matthews Sr. of Jeanerette; one son, Lionel Matthews Jr. of Jeanerette; three brothers, Warren Alexander Sr. of Texas City, TX; Alvin Alexander and Rev. Elijah Alexander, both of Jeanerette; two sisters, Doretha A. Misher of El Paso, TX and Ella A. Sutton of Jeanerette; four grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and three brothers.
