Police Reports 5-28-15
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrest:
Roland August Jr., 18, of 420 Sorrell Road, Sorrell, was arrested Wednesday at 11:20 a.m. on charges of illegal possession of stolen things and flight from an officer. On May 22 the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of the theft of a four wheeler that occurred on Gibby Road. On May 26 a deputy assigned to patrol the area reportedly observed August riding the stolen ATV on Desonnier Road and initiated a traffic stop. August fled from the police unit into a wooded area off of the roadway. With the assistance of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the deputy recovered the stolen ATV that was allegedly abandoned by August in the woods. August was asked to come in to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin in reference to the investigation and was subsequently arrested on the charges listed above. He was released on $2,000 bond.
Detectives believe this case may be connected to another complaint of a stolen ATV received on May 21. Deputies made an arrest and in both of these cases the victims listed their ATVs for sale on Craigslist. The victims reportedly agreed to meet with subject claiming to be potential buyers in the Jeanerette and Baldwin areas. The subjects then reportedly failed to return the vehicles after claiming to take the ATVs on test drives. The investigation is ongoing.
Narcotics Division agents arrested Darin Hannigan, 36, of 324 Clark St., Apt. C, Bayou Vista, Wednesday at 6:26 p.m. on charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. No bond was set.
Stephen Guarisco, 46, of 1010 Florence St., Morgan City, was arrested Wednesday at 9:46 p.m. on a warrant charging him with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. He was released on $1,500 bond.
Lee Boudreaux, 41, of 225 North Verrette St., Amelia, was arrested today at 12:25 a.m. on charges of operation of a clandestine lab, violation of a drug free zone, manufacturing meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bond was set.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of Austin Legnon, 19, of Guidroz St., Franklin, today at 1:50 a.m. on charges of disturbing the peace and resisting an officer. He was held on $1,500 bond.
Anthony Williams, 29, of Martin Luther King Boulevard, Franklin, was arrested today at 2:08 a.m. on charges of possession of marijuana and no driver’s license. He was released on $2,250 bond.
